Job Description:

SUMMARY: Performs Collections (third party) training and Human Resources related duties at the designated office location and carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruiting, training/orientation and employee relations.

TRAINING RELATED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Confer with management, supervisors and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies.
·        Coordinate training schedule with the hiring and training demands of the Collection floor.
·        Effectively conduct training sessions within a given timeframe covering specified areas such as new hire orientation, on-the-job training, refresher training, etc. in accordance with Company training program
·        Test trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training.
·        Supervise Collections employees in the training environment in accordance with established Company policies and procedures.
·        Report on progress of employees under guidance during training periods.
·        Monitor collection methods used by employees and make on the spot corrections.
·        Assist employees with problems concerning "how to" perform specific tasks related to their Collections position.
·        Maintain inventory for training materials.
·        Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
 
HR RELATED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
·        Reviews applications, interview, screen, and recruit job applicants to vacant positions.
·        Administers pre-employment tests and assists in administration of screening as a result of client requirements.
·        Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
·        Assists in communicating and distributing various employee discount coupons/perks and may contact companies as directed by VP, HR.
·        Handles initial response to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints.
·        Assists in administration of corrective action, including serving as an on-site witness for disciplinary meetings and/or terminations. 
·        Handles Post Hire and Exit interviewing.
·        Represents the company for any unemployment claims.
·        Facilitates quarterly Health and Safety Committee Meeting; participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
·        Makes photocopies, faxes documents and performs other clerical functions; may draft and prepare correspondence (including disciplinary forms); prepares and reviews new employee files; processes incoming mail; keeps employee records up-to-date by forwarding appropriate paperwork to the Corporate office in timely fashion.
·        Conducts audits of various payroll or other HR programs and recommends corrective action.
·        Partners with employees and management to communicate and administer various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations and maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
·        Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures resulting in continual improvements in efficiency in services performed.
·        Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Job Requirements:

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:  Minimum of 2 years job-related experience in 3rd party collections industry. Training or Human Resources experience in a call-center environment preferred.  High school diploma or GED required. Bachelors degree in Business, Communications or Human Resources Management preferred; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
·        Requires successful completion of FDCPA examination and must be able operate effectively within the guidelines of Company and client polices and applicable Federal and State law. 
·        Knowledge of CUBS and Accurint preferred.
·        Must be able to present information, clearly, concisely and persuasively. Demonstrates effective training and group presentation skills and conducts meetings. Must be comfortable communicating with all levels of management and employees.
·        Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems in a timely manner, by using judgment that is in consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law.
·        Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
·        Able to analyze information presented on candidate applications and conduct personal interviews to gain adequate information on which to base a selection decision.
·        Presents numerical data effectively and is able to read and interpret written information. Able to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.
·        Prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans. 
·        Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail and monitors own work to ensure quality.
·        Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands (multi-tasking) and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
·        Consistently at work and on time, follows instructions and responds to management direction.
·        Actively promotes and personally observes all Company policies, procedures and work rules, including those regarding safety and security, and uses equipment and materials properly.
·        Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications, especially Microsoft Excel and Word software and able to operate most standard office equipment. 
·        Knowledge of office administration procedures.
·        Must possess tactful negotiating and counseling / advising skills.
·        Must be career-minded, self-motivated and results oriented. 
·        Must possess self-directed, independent working skills, but also be able to function as a member of a team.
